Life in itself has no meaning.

What?

Life in itself is empty and meaningless.

Excuse me!!?

Life in itself is empty and meaningless. And it is empty and meaningless that it is empty and meaningless.

Yes, really!

      

That doesn`t mean life isn't valuable or important. 

That would be adding a meaning.

LIfe is what it is: Life! 

And I think it is awesome.

But a whole lot of what we make life mean comes from our creative minds. We give meaning to events, to things that happen, to the way people look at us. And as long as that meaning empowers us, makes us happy, it is great. It is being human. Meaning making machines 

But let's look at right & wrong.

Two meanings we can choose out.

Right & wrong. 

Are they part of life? 

Don`t they exist?

Yes, they do. 

They're part of our reality, because we invented them. They weren't always there, though.

Right & wrong, morals are created by us, by human beings. 

When Eve and Adam ate the apple, the forbidden fruit of knowledge, right and wrong were created. 

Right and wrong didn't exist before. We made it up. And Paradise was lost in that moment. Morals were invented.

Now the good news:

We can hang the apple back. We can recreate 'The Garden of Eden'. 

If only we acknowledge that there ís no right and wrong. It is not universal. It is an invention of mankind.

There is only what we feel/think/decide is right or wrong. 

1974. Picture this: 

I am 14 year old happy boy. Suddenly, my friends point out a fellow student in the school yard: 'Look at that fag!'

I'm struck. 

At this moment it hits me that my feelings have a name. A terrible name I heard before, but never identified myself with before: Gay!

Being a fag, being gay. 'Oh no!'

Being gay is totally wrong and weird. I have been told. And I had believed myself.

So I am wrong and weird? I've heard that ' truth' all my life and I believed it myself: gays are weird and wrong. So it must be true if everybody says so...

Or everything I have been told is not true? Is that possible? 

Can everybody be wrong? Really?

The beginning of my search for right & wrong for many years to come.

What makes things right and what makes them wrong? 

What ìs right and what is wrong?

I think that we all agree that stealing, abuse,  hurting people on purpose and killing people is not what we want. We can label that as wrong. We can agree on that. To be safe.

All other condemning and judging of behaviour, of beliefs, of sexuality, gender, forms of relationships is what it is: 

Condemning and judging. 

Just plain condemning and judging.

Why did people start to believe these things are wrong? 

Fear? Innocence? Dumbness? 

Just repeating what their parents told them? 

Must be most of the time something  like that. Just repeating what the parents told. No need to examine if it's really wrong or not. Ancients morals that served their purpose once. Rooted deep inside. But expired.

People may think they own the truth. They may feel  their way is the right way.  They may feel they  are better than others. And they may feel they have the right to judge and condemn other people who believe differently, live differently, look differently...

Well, they don't have that right. Period. 

Every religion preaches: 

Only God has the right to judge and condemn.  If there is a God, I don't think even he executes that right.

Isn't God just a loving creative energy? A force that has put love in our hearts? To connect to each other, To survive.
How extraordinary is that!?

Maybe the only thing He cares about is our being good to each other. Because that is what really matters. I think.

So live and let live. And try not to hurt each other (too much) along the way.

And when you catch yourself judging or condemning, ask yourself:

Does this really hurt or harm me?

Or am I stuck in an ancient game of blaming, judging and condemning?

And if that's the case, just let it go.

Accept what is.  And you'll be free.

Free to live. And free to love.

No more judging, no more blaming.

And if something doesn't work for you, find something that does work, without making anything wrong.

The love in our hearts wasn`t put there to stay. 

Love isn`t love till we give it away.
